Why we Love this Coffee:

This is the first coffee from Mexico that Superthing has ever carried and we are excited to share it with you. This coffee from Tenejapa was imported by our friends at Falcon Specialty. It is a major crowd pleaser and we’ve been loving it as a filter coffee quite a bit here in the roastery. For lovers of a traditional coffee with a bit of interest brought in by the zippy green apple acidity.

More About this Coffee:

This SHG EP quality coffee comes from the town of Tenejapa. Tenejapa is one of the 119 Municipalities of Chiapas, in southern Mexico. The Tenejapa farmer's group has 280 members and is led by Juan Lopez Meza. The farmer's group is a part of a nonprofit organization called Ichthus. Ichthus’ runs a low-tuition boarding school to develop leaders in Mexico. The graduation rate of Ichthus is over 90% whereas Mexico’s average is 45%. Tenejapa is an isolated town made up of indigenous people; Spanish is their second language. They speak their own language and have different customs.
